Smart water assistant Phyn Plus launches in UAE
Phyn Plus is the first device to launch in the region with advanced monitoring capabilities based on pressure sensing. This allows users to monitor the whole plumbing system from one place, in real-time. The smart water meter detects leaks anywhere in a residence, and can automatically shut off the main water supply to prevent costly damage.
The smart water assistant is designed to help consumers reduce their water usage and contribute to the global water shortage problem, protect their homes, and save money.
The World Health Organisation predicts that by 2025 half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas. According to the European Commission, it is estimated that 20-40 percent of available water is being wasted due to leakages, unnecessary irrigation, dripping taps, and a lack of water saving technologies
The Phyn app provides unprecedented access to residents to detailed water usage from individual water fixtures, allowing them to view consumption from baths, sinks, toilets and more. This way they can conserve and save water, reducing costs.
Phyn Plus is also compatible with Amazon Alexa, allowing users to ask their smart assistant to provide updates on their water consumption and even turn their water off and using voice commands.
David King, Managing Director of VERTECO commented “This best in class technology is the first time we’re extending our IoT solutions to the consumer market. Apart from saving money on water bills by identifying and stopping leakages in real time, water damage to properties and contents will be mitigated. With the majority of tenants in the UAE not opting to purchase home insurance, the ability to be notified, and immediately address a leak will be an invaluable resource. This is especially true for those who travel frequently, or for an extended period.”
The technology behind Phyn Plus is the result of nearly a decade of research and development. Phyn is a joint venture between smart home technology leader Belkin International and Uponor.
Phyn Plus is available to purchase in the UAE through VERTECO’s e-commerce platform www.SaveWaterUAE.com or direct from VERTECO by calling +971 4 338 1155 or emailing [email protected]
